Wanda Harlan Lopez was born on May 29, 1949 to amazing parents, Elmer and Mandy Harlan and was raised in a loving Christian home. Wanda was best known as "Servant of the Lord." She went to heaven on March 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., gracefully and peacefully with her children, Ricky and Brenda, along with Brenda Collins and her niece, Karen Friedman,
who had the pleasure of holding her hand, telling how beautiful heaven was gonna be while she took her last breath on earth. Wanda's strength and wisdom in the Lord, which she taught them, will continue through all her family and fantastic friends.
She will be missed and loved by her children, daughter, Brenda Hefner; son and his wife, Ricky and Julie Lopez; grandchildren, Alyssa and husband, Scott Tomberlin, Amber and wife, Maggie Taylor, Max Hefner, Meagan Williams, Brett Hefner, Sarah and husband, Doug West, and Ricky Lopez; her great-grandchildren, who called her Gigi, Mason and Everett Tomberlin, Jaxon Taylor, Elly West; her parents, Elmer and Mandy Harlan; her brothers, Donnie and wife, Debbie Harlan, Jeff and wife, Joyce Harlan, Darrell and wife, Mary Harlan; 23 nieces and nephews; 24 great-nieces and nephews; special dear friends, Chris and Frank Crabtree, Sandy and Dave Melo, Brenda and Ray Collins, Linda Shidler and Leslie Harris.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home, 501 Lucard St., Taft, CA. The celebration will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Valley Baptist Church in Bakersfield, CA with a reception immediately following. Your presence will be greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers, Mom's request was to donate to Valley Baptist building fund.
