Warren Helmstedter Obituary
Warren Eugene Helmstedter, 82, left this world to enter eternal life on Wednesday, May 13th, 2015. He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. He met his wife of 53 years, Nancy, through their church. They married on October 23, 1954. Warren and Nancy were members of First Christian Church in Bakersfield, Ca. where they were supported by an amazing group of believers, who have been life long friends. He was also a member of the Y's men's and Kiwanis Service Clubs. When he was 37 years old he was given the opportunity to change careers. He began a 25 year adventure as an educator at Bakersfield College. Since his retirement at 62, Bakersfield College has been very dear to his heart. Upon retirement Warren and Nancy moved to Los Osos, where they enjoyed 12 years of fun, travel, family visits, and church activities.
In December of 2007, he lost his wife Nancy, but with the love and support of his family and friends he was able to lead a wonderfully full life.
Most recently he has served as a board member, board president, and property chairman at First Christian Church of Morro Bay, a member of the Sea Pines Golf Club and secretary of the Morro Shores Mobile Home Community Association. He also enjoyed being a part of many bocce teams at the Morro Shores Park. His life was filled with God, family, and friends and it was abundantly blessed, as he was a blessing to all of us.
He is survived by his daughter Delinda and husband, Russ, his son Craig, and his son Chris and wife Dianna, 8 grandchildren, Brett, Danae and husband Nick, Justin, Braden, Russell and Matthew, and Kyle and Ty, and 4 great grandchildren Kadin, Phalen, Elijah and Hector.
