Warren was born in Orange, California to Jeanne and Gilbert Irvine. He attended Cathedral High in Los Angeles before joining the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he attended Cal State Los Angeles and the University of Southern California.
He was an avid USC fan and loved handing the beer to the tuba player. With his degree in Social Work, Warren went to work for the Kern County Department of Human Services. He held many supervisory positions before retiring as a Juvenile Court hearing Officer. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years (Kathy). His sister Anita (Don) Elmore of Huntington Beach. His son Todd (Kim) Irvine and daughter Tracy (Roger) Coughenour. He also leaves behind "PaPa's Rabbits" Paige and Chase Rasmussen and Ian and Ethan Irvine.
