William A. Kinney Obituary
Bill was born in Port Huron, Michigan on June 3, 1937 and passed away on April 30, 2014. Bill was a six year resident of Auburn, CA. Bill lived and worked in Bakersfield and Porterville, CA for thirty-four and twenty-five years, respectively. Bill was in banking for forty-seven years with Crocker Bank and Wells Fargo Bank and finished his long successful banking career with Bank of the Sierra in Exeter, CA, in 2002. Bill served his country proudly as a US Army National Guard Staff Sergeant E6 40th Armored Division out of Bakersfield, CA. Bill was a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus with Auburn Council 6149.
Bill is survived by his wife Lenore Kinney of Auburn, CA. son Daryl R. Kinney of Naples, FL, daughter Darlene K. Kinney Gubler and favorite son-in-law Anthony W. Gubler of Auburn, CA, son Dennis B. Kinney of Auburn, CA, grandsons Nathan Kinney of Bend, OR and Joseph W. Gubler of Auburn, CA, granddaughters Sabrina L. Kinney of Coeur d'Alene, ID and Kathryn C. Gubler of Auburn, CA. He is also survived by his sister Sherrill (Kinney) Hernandez and brother-in-law George Hernandez of Salem, SC and brother, James. A. Kinney of San Diego, CA. Bill was also blessed with 28 loving nieces and nephews and many other friends and family. Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father Dorothy V. Kinney and Bernard J. Kinney.
Bill battled valiantly on and off against cancer for twelve years. He was a wonderful patriarch husband, father, dad, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His great humor, faith and love of family and baseball will be sorely missed. Rosary services will be held at Chapel of the Hills on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 11:00 am with Military graveside services immediately following at New Auburn Cemetery.
