William (Bill) LeRoy Caraway March 10, 1936 - November 12, 2012 William (Bill) Leroy Caraway was born on March 10, 1936 and passed away on November 12, 2012, after his struggle with Parkinson's disease. He was born in Whittier, California and attended Bakersfield High School. After high school he attended the University of California, where he studied Political Science and Law. After graduating from Hastings Law School, he joined the Army and served as a Captain in the Army JAG Corps. Upon discharge he continued serving with the Army Reserves. After practicing law in Bakersfield, he moved to Massachusetts and was an Assistant Dean at a law school there. Bill felt extremely fulfilled by his work as a substance abuse counselor. He is survived by his two sisters, Carol Ross of Eatonville, Washington and Joy McCarthy of Bakersfield, California, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his two special friends, Kimberly Jones and Ricky Sims. A special thanks to Flo Moreno and staff at Golden Hearts Residential Care Facility for the loving care given to Bill. Services will be held at Bakersfield National Cemetery on Monday, November 19, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. www.bakersfield.com/obits
