William Coleman Obituary
William Coleman was born on November 9, 1926 in Cleveland, Arkansas where he was the oldest of three children. He went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2015. He worked and resided most of his life in Bakersfield, California.
William served in the Navy during WWII. He was employed by Bakersfield City School District for 26 years where he became Head Mechanic.
William enjoyed bible studies, gardening, golf, traveling, carpentry, and spending time with his Yorkies.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his son Billy Coleman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Madeline; children, Charles (Cortney) Coleman, Kelly Coleman, Betty May, Linda (Eric) Smith, Gary Coleman, Eric Coleman; step-children, Joe (Ida) Marin, Robert Marin, Chris Marin; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Carl (Wanda) Coleman and his sister, Lynda (Bill) Williams.
Viewing will be held on Monday, March 16th from 2:00 to 5:00pm at Mission Family Mortuary, 531 California Avenue. A memorial services will be held on Tuesday, March 17th, 10:30am, at Valley Baptist Church, 4800 Fruitvale Ave., followed by interment at the Bakersfield National Cemetery, 30338 East Bear Mt. Blvd., in Arvin.
