William Fanning Jr. Obituary
Junior was known to many by his great skills on the football field. He was known as "Choo Choo Train" because that's what it felt like when he hit you in the field. He played for Bakersfield High School, Bakersfield College, Army, and also was a rookie for the 49er's.
Junior enlisted in the Army where he was a Corporal and served overseas where he served his country faithfully until his discharged. He worked various jobs which included 20 Mule Team Borax, City of Bakersfield, Post Office, and Gundlach Plumbing Co. He also had his own Janitorial Service.
He leaves to cherish his memories his beautiful wife Geneva Fanning, sons Billy Fanning, Leo Fanning, and Karl Fanning.
Visitation will be Friday, March 14th From 4-6 with mediation from 6-7 at The Chapel of Rucker's Mortuary. Funeral service will be Saturday, March 15th at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church with interment at Union Cemetery.
