William Livingston D'Olier Jr. Obituary
"Bill" was the eldest of three children born in Brooklyn, New York to William L. and Lavinia D'Olier. He attended Lehigh University and later Stanford University after serving with the 5th Marines, USMC, in Korea. He married Kathleen Henry in Santa Barbara on March 13, 1954.
Bill enjoyed a long career as a geologist first with oil and gas exploration throughout California and the Gulf Coast, and later with the development of geothermal resource projects supporting electric power generation. He benefited from relationships with many colleagues through his work. In his spare time Bill enjoyed reading, gardening, sailing, family activities and communicating with friends.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen, his children Bill (Marie), Anne (Mark) Cheney and Paul (Yvette) and three grandsons Forrest Cheney, Cole Cheney and Andrew D'Olier.
The family is grateful for exceptional care from the staffs at CBCC and Hoffmann Hospice.
A private memorial gathering will be arranged.
