Doris passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 12, 2016, at the age of 92. Born and raised in Bakersfield, you could always find her dressed to the 'Nines' whether working in her garden, entertaining or baking and was always painting something; she even painted her ironing board pink. She always had a witty sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben, of 68 years; her sisters, Earlene Rogers, Wanda Davis, brother Fred Mears, daughter Barbara Morgan and granddaughter Amy Martin.
Doris is survived by her sister Nelda Roy, daughter Donnette Boller and Lonny, son Richard Stock and Kris, all of Bakersfield, daughter Jill Stock of Okmulgee, OK, grandchildren: Kelly and Brett Tackett, Benjie and Kim Snider, Brian Morgan, Barbara Ruiz all of Bakersfield, Mark Morgan and Sandy of Lancaster, Travis, Jason and AJ Stock of Salt Lake City, Utah; fourteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special "Thank You" to Towyanna Quinn, a very dear friend who shared Doris' journey the last several years and was always there for us.
Doris and Ben will be interred together at the Bakersfield National Cemetary. At her request, there will be no funeral services.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal.
Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
