Lupe Leal "Gongie" August 28, 1915 - July 05, 2013 Lupe Leal, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother went to our Father on July fifth. Lupe was born in Mexico, but at nine months old, Lupe moved to Del Rio, Texas. Lupe was one of sixteen children. She raised five children: Roy Jimenez, Alfonso Jiminez, Leonard Leal Jr., Jess Leal, and Lydia Rowe. Lupe was devoted to Jesus Christ and was know for lighting prayer candles for loved ones. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting, making tamales, watching her "Novelas" and working word search puzzles. Lupe is preceded in death by her husband Leonard Leal Sr., as well as two of her children: Roy Jiminez and Leonard Leal Jr. She is survived by her sons Alfonso Jiminez, Jess Leal and daughter Lydia and husband Roy Rowe. Lupe had numerous grandchildren: Linda McGee, Sara Rowe. Andrea Heitzman, Nerissa Leal, Roy Jiminez Jr., Leitha Ball, Leonard Leal III, and Loretta Leal. Lupe was also blessed to have numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held at Hillcrest Mortuary on Wednesday, July 10th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Hillcrest on Thursday, July 11th at 9 a.m. www.bakersfield.com./obits
