Brenda Lea Menees October 15, 1957 - October 13, 2009 On October 13, 2009 Brenda Menees, age 52, of Bakersfield, CA; One of Heaven's Angels was called home after a brief battle of cancer. She was an avid lover of animals of various types. She has always been there to lend a helping hand to those in need. Brenda has never been afraid to try new challenges, such as driving the red hobby stock car at the Bakersfield Speedway, to performing Jazzersize routines in public. She is survived by her husband, Robert Menees Sr., the love of her life of 29 years and; her adored grandson, Christian Thomasy; stepson, Robert Menees Jr. and family. Brenda also leaves behind siblings: Buddy Ellis Jr. and family, Bobby Ellis and family, LeRoy Ring-Kissee, and Cindy Menser and family, and her chosen one: Jeanie Harvey and family. Nieces and nephews to include Chanel, Nason, and Jerick Amarillas, Vance Rankin, and their families. Semi-Chosen Nieces: Tina, Cheryl, Carol and Vergie who shaved her head in her honor, and all their families. Also to include six grandchildren; and an abundance of great-nieces, great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Addington. A special Thank-you to the staff of San Joaquin Hospital, for the gentle care given to our Angel during her brief stay. No services will be held. In lieu of flowers may be sent to the SPCA. Brenda will be greatly missed by all her family and close friends.
