Phillip Bernhard Zoeller January 1, 1929 - August 30, 2010 A celebration service will be held Saturday, September 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Riverlakes Community Church, 4301 Calloway Dr., for Phillip B. Zoeller, who passed away on August 30, 2010 at the age of 81. Phil was born January 1, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA, to Phillip B. Zoeller, Sr. and Freda Zoeller. Following two years of service in the Navy at the end of World War II, Phil enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh, graduating with a degree in Accounting. In 1953, he married Barbara Nell Emmons and God blessed them with two children, Mary and Barry. Phil had a successful business career and retired from Certified Grocers in California as Sr. VP/CFO. But more important to Phil than his business career was his faith. He was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and had a true servant's heart. He served in leadership roles in multiple churches and during his retirement, he served a time as interim president of Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, IL. Even at the time of his passing, Phil was preparing to serve as a small group leader at Riverlakes. Phil is survived by his wife, Dixie; children, Mary Richardson and husband Phil of Pleasanton, CA, Barry and wife Michelle Zoeller of Bakersfield; step-children Paul Shaw, Leslie Shaw Baker and husband Doug, and Kelly and wife Noemi Shaw; grandchildren, Michael and wife Bethany Zoeller, Jordan Zoeller, Laura and Lisa Richardson, and David and Daniel Baker. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you get involved with and support the Christian service organization of your choice. www.bakersfield.com/obits
