Robert Boyett Tucker Jr. Obituary
Robert Boyett Tucker Jr. 1941 - 2011 Robert Tucker, better know as Bob or "Tuck" to his family and friends was born on July 23, 1941 in Bakersfield California and passed away at his home in Bakersfield on June 30, 2011 with family by his side. Bob was raised in a farming environment. He attended Arvin Elementary and Arvin High School. Upon graduation from high school Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy as an aviation electrician. He was honorably discharged and enrolled at Bakersfield College, majoring in Agriculture Business. After completion of college he returned to the farm as foreman for his father. In January 1969, he joined the California Highway Patrol serving in the El Centro, Tejon, and Bakersfield offices and was medically retired in 1984. Bob also worked at San Joaquin Hospital in security and for the Kern County Sheriff's Department at the Lerdo Jail facility for ten years. Bob enjoyed playing golf if for nothing else than the companionship of his golfing friends and the sometimes beautiful scenery. He also enjoyed getting together with his friends on "Taco Tuesday" at various locations. Bob is preceded in death by his father Robert B. Tucker Sr., mother Eula G. Tucker, step granddaughter Danielle Gould, and former wife Roberta C. Tucker. Surviving Bob is the love of his life Kathy, whom he married on January 24, 1991. He always said that Kathy was the best thing that ever happened to him. Bob also leaves behind his two wonderful boys. Robert B. Tucker III and wife Heather of New Orleans, LA, and Sean A. Tucker and daughter in-law Tanja Tucker of Pismo Beach, CA. Also surviving him are his brother Richard L. Tucker of Bakersfield and his two step daughters Sherrill Gould and her husband Tink and Denise Haskill both living in Bakersfield. Bob's grandchildren are Kimberly Tucker and Robert Tucker IV of New Orleans and Lauren Tucker of Pismo Beach. He also leaves behind his step-grandchildren are Dezarei Harrison and husband Chad, David Davis and wife Caramel, Sonny Altenhofel, and Tyler Haskill, and step great Grandchildren Danielle Davis, Caiden and Daniel Harrison. A chapel service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery on Thursday, July 7th, at 1:00pm, followed by a graveside service. The family wishes to thank Dr. Tetso Ishimori for the many years of caring treatment. Bob considered him a friend as well as a physician. They also wish to thank Hoffman Hospice for the wonderful care Bob received during his last days on earth.
