Trevor Daniel Jones September 28, 1988 - March 20, 2012 Trevor left his earthly life and returned to his Father in Heaven and his Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday evening, March 20, 2012. Trevor was met in a glorious reunion beyond this mortal veil by his mother Connie Jones and sister Kylee Jones, both whom had preceded him in death when he was only nine years old. Trevor's faith was strong, and he believed in the existence of eternal families. This faith gives all of us comfort knowing he can be with us for eternity. Trevor was well known and loved by family, friends, and his fellow officers in the Bakersfield Police Department, and Kern County Sheriff's Department. He was respected for his strong work ethic and his genuine caring for the people he served. He had a reputation for clear thinking in stressful situations, humor, dependability, and physical tenacity. Trevor was a dedicated police officer in service to his community. His love for his co-workers and friends were immeasurable. As a young child, Trevor excelled in gymnastics. He was able to compete in state and national meets, gaining notoriety as a member of the Junior Olympic National Gymnastics Team. Under the mentoring of Coach Reed, in particular, he gained skills that helped him prepare for his career choices, and personal life. Trevor's character and maturity was also strengthened by being a member of the Boy Scouts of America. Trevor earned the highest rank of Eagle Scout at age 14 with special recognition to his leaders Calvin Branson and Dave Haviland. Trevor was born in Redwood City, CA and was raised in Bakersfield. Trevor attended Lakeside Jr. High. Trevor graduated from Stockdale High School in 2006. Trevor had a love for the outdoors, and his chocolate lab named "Hazel." Trevor's first job was working at Reimer's Garden Center. He had a love for landscape and gardening which he shared with his step-mom, Suzy. Trevor was highly creative with interests in oil painting and mosaic tile design. Trevor's smile and outgoing personality always added life to the party. Trevor was excited to begin his life with his fiance Ashley Van Zandt. They shared a love for each other that words cannot describe. Trevor quickly became a part of the Van Zandt family. Trevor was so very passionate about his fiance, her family, and all his many friends. He will always be in our hearts and forever in our memories.
