John C. "Jocko" Wilson October 15, 1923 - October 25, 2012 Jocko was born in Hopkinton, Massachusetts to Mary and Robert Wilson Sr. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Jean, brother David and mother-in-law Thelma Fishering. Jocko married the love of his life Betty Jo Fishering in San Francisco, CA in 1946. Together they have 3 children, Smoki (Chuck), Kim (Gary) and John (Debbie). Jocko valued education and was most proud that each of his children attained graduate level education. He is also survived by his beloved grandson Ron Hashim (Amanda) and brothers Robert Jr. and Bill Wilson. Jocko was blessed to have an extended family of 8 step grandchildren and 17 step great grandchildren. His greatest joy in life was his wife and family and he was truly adored by his loved ones. Jocko attended Hopkinton High School, Boston Public Latin School, Harvard University and graduated from the University of California Berkeley in 1949. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1946. Jocko's career as a Clinical Chemical Technologist brought him many years of professional and personal satisfaction. He was honored to serve at Kern General Hospital as well as several other laboratories. He had an entrepreneurial business sense and was an exceptional provider. Jocko loved the Lord Jesus and worshiped at Central Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Viewing will be Tuesday, October 30th, from 5pm to 8pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA. Services will be held at Hillcrest on Wednesday, October 31st, at 10:00am. Following services our Husband, Dad and Papa will be laid to rest at the Bakersfield National Cemetery 30338 East Bear Mountain Boulevard Arvin, CA at 12:30pm.
