Arthur John Rodrigues April 3, 1928 - October 28, 2012 Arthur was born in Bakersfield, California in 1928 to Antonio and Mary (Silva) Rodrigues. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Emily Villicano, Julia Fretias, and Gloria Fretias. Arthur is survived by his wife of 64 years Julie, and his children, Eleanor Lynch, Louis (Sue) Rodrigues, Shirley (Pascal) Ansolabehere and Kathie (Dominic) Othart. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren for whom he loved with all of his heart. His greatest joy in life was his wife and family and he was truly adored by his loved ones. Arthur attended Greenfield Elementary School. He continued his life in the Greenfield area where he worked as a farmer and later as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed his membership in numerous clubs and organizations including the Portuguese Organization and the Italian Federation. Arthur also enjoyed spending his time as a volunteer for the local food bank. Arthur Loved the Lord and was a parishioner at Saint Francis Church, where he also served as an usher for many years. Rosary will be at 6:00pm with viewing from 4:00 to 8:00pm, Wednesday, October 31st at Doughty-Calhoun, 1100 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, CA. Services will be held on Thursday, November 1st, at 11:00am, at Saint Francis Catholic Church, 900 H St., Bakersfield, CA. Following services our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons Troy Lynch, Mike Lynch, Charlie Lynch, Arthur Lynch, Scott Lynch, Paul Rodrigues, Joseph Rodrigues, and Dominic L. Othart. Honorary pallbearers will be Pascal Ansolabehere, Dominic R. Othart, and Lorenzo Echevere. The family would like to thank Hallmark assisted Living for their wonderful care.
