Mary A. Dominguez October 16, 1934 - February 27, 2013 Mary was born to Braulio and Maria Valladares on October 16, 1934 in Bena, California and passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on February 27, 2013. She married Benjamin P. Dominguez on May 9, 1959, and together they raised five children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Jack Valladares, and her sisters Rachael Ramirez and Angie Melendez. She is survived by her children: Joe B. Dominguez, Antonio (Tony) Dominguez and wife Cindy and their children Lauren and Mark, Vicky Erickson and her favorite son in law Kirk and their children Tracy, Teresa, Jason and Mary Grace, Tom Dominguez and wife April and their children Isabella, Ava, and Benjamin, Michael Dominguez and wife Misty and their children Matthew, Eric and Alexander, sister Charlotte and husband Val Alvidrez and brother Art (Tudy) Valladares, numerous Godchildren, many nieces and nephews. Mary was an active, lifetime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe parish. She was committed to her faith, never missing Mass. She lived her entire life in a Christ like manner. She graduated from Kern Union High School (BHS) in 1953, and she worked for Brocks Department Store, and ultimately spent 34 years with the Bakersfield City School District, retiring in 1996. She stayed busy in her retirement participating as a member of CSEA, and enjoyed lunches every Wednesday with her friends from Surviving Mates. She was a devoted Dodgers Baseball fan; her favorite Dodger was Sandy Koufax. Mary enjoyed running around the town with her Comadre Marcie Saiz. Her greatest joy was supporting her children and grandchildren in their multiple school activities and various sporting events. She was most at home in her own kitchen preparing meals for family and anyone else who came through her front door. Visitation is scheduled at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 601 E. California Ave. Bakersfield CA on Tuesday evening March 5, 2013 at 5:00 with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning, March 6, 2013 at 10:00 followed by internment at Union Cemetery. After the services, please join the family in celebrating Mary's life at the Knights Of Columbus Hall, 108 Goodman Street, Bakersfield CA.
