Will the real Kitty Carlisle please stand up?

4/17/2012
Kitty Carlisle Hart was a multi-talented entertainer – she was a singer and actress who worked everywhere from Broadway to the silver screen to the Metropolitan Opera. But she's perhaps best remembered, and most loved, for her appearances on some of the American public's favorite TV game shows of the 1950s, '60s and '70s.

Five years after Carlisle's death, we're remembering how her sparkling personality and wit made her a staple on game shows. Here are a few of our favorites:

Carlisle was a regular on Password.

She showed up on What's My Line? from time to time, too.

And her most famous and longest-running game show gig, To Tell the Truth – Carlisle was a regular panelist from 1957 to 1978.
