On Thursday, May 26, 2016, Emily Jane (nee Black) Dix age 92 of Timonium. Beloved wife of the late Jack H. Dix; devoted mother of James "Ricky" Dix and his wife Barbara of Boulder Creek, CA, Molly Blanchard and her late husband Tom, Lisa Jones and her husband Alex and Amy Masin and her husband Frank; sister of Genie Hoshall, Betty Francis and Nancy Leonard; grandmother of Faith, Jon, Jennifer, Matthew, Cameron, Daniel, Ben, Emily and Anna; great grandmother of Dean. She will be remembered as the beloved matriarchal figure who was the essential glue that held the family together. Her influence on each and every one of us will be forever recognized and her unbending support will never be forgotten. A graveside service will be held at Druid Ridge Cemetery on Saturday, May 28 beginning at 2:30 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at Timonium United Methodist Church, 2300 Pot Spring Rd., on Saturday, June 4 beginning at 11 AM. Doerer, Dolores - Baltimore  
Dolores Ann (Bittrick) Doerer of Ellicott City, Maryland died on May 16, 2016. Born on April 23, 1921, she was the youngest of three children of George and Mabel Bittrick of Baltimore. After high school, she worked for Bell Telephone Company for several years. During World War II, she enlisted in the Women's Army Corps traveling the country to assist with recruitment and enlistment. Dolores met her husband of more than 50 years, Donald Doerer, during their military service. Dolores had artistic talent and her classes at Maryland Institute of Art, today MICA, led to a passion for designing and sewing fashionable clothes for herself and her family. When she moved to Howard County she enjoyed gardening on a grand scale, taking special pride in her flowers and vegetables. Dolores and her husband operated a small Christmas tree farm until Donald's death in 1996. She enjoyed hosting family parties, playing cards, and hiking. Dolores was devoted to her Catholic faith, where at St. Alphonsus, Woodstock, she found a second home and family. She is survived by her three daughters: Donna Doerer, Denise Doerer Sharp (Charles), and Dale Doerer Rossitto (Vincent), four grandsons, and two great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Alphonsus, 10800 Old Court Road, Woodstock, Maryland, 21163. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Alphonsus Church or to Gilchrist Hospice Care.
