James Harold HEROY III

HEROY III , James Harold On Wednesday, March 13, 2013 James Harold Heroy III , M.D., 72, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Las Vegas. Dr.
Heroy was a well-respected physician specializing in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery which he practiced for over 42 years. Originally from New York State, he graduated from Yale University for pre-medical studies. He received his M.D. from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Heroy served in the United States Navy as a medical officer and surgeon. Dr. Heroy completed his residency at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital. Following his training he continued in teaching at Johns Hopkins as well as private practice in Maryland with Gehris, Heroy and Associates. In 1997 he moved to Las Vegas and joined Ear, Nose and throat Consultants of Nevada and continued to practice. Dr. Heroy lived an active and full life outside of medicine. He was an avid fisherman, accomplished painter and photographer. Dr. Heroy especially enjoyed travel and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Karen R. Heroy, two daughters, Kristen Y. Heroy and Karen C. Welsko; son, David C. Heroy; two sisters, Ann H. Webb M.D. and Kate H. Hartley; and four grandchildren. Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend who will be greatly missed.
Services will be held Friday, May 17th at 1:00 at Advent United Methodist Church in Las Vegas.
