Melissa "Missi" Skutch Park died Dec.8 at Gilchrist Hospice Care after an extended bout with breast cancer
. She was 60. The Baltimore native was the daughter of Raphael Walter and Jane Noble Skutch, both of whom predeceased her. She was married to Weston A. Park, who survives her, for 27 years. She was the mother of Weston Raphael "Rafe" Park, an English teacher, of Baltimore, and step mother of Dr. Kristen L. Park, a pediatric neurologist, of Denver. She is also survived by a brother, Janison Skutch, a newspaper reporter
, and his wife Gloria Nanfria Skutch of Savannah, Ga., a sister, Susan Frizzell and her husband William Frizzell of Granite, as well as a niece and nephew and a number of loving cousins. Mrs. Park was a veteran real estate appraiser of 20 years and an active supporter of Archbishop Curley High School. She was a loyal Ravens fan, after her earlier life as an avid Baltimore Colts fan. She was a camper and enjoyed canoeing in Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada.
A memorial service at will be held at Church of the Nativity Cedarcroft ,419 Cedarcroft Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21212 at 4:OOP.M.on December 28. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mrs. Park may be made to Archbishop Curley High School attention Memorial Scholarship Fund, Gilchrist Hospice, or Hopewell Cancer Support.
