Al was a legacy member of the Chesapeake Bacchus Glub, and group of amateur winemakers in the greater Baltimore area, from which he and Mike DeSimone, one of his original partners in Woodhall "graduated" to the winery business. He was a dear friend to all of us. His wit and kind manner will be missed by us all.

Al was a man of warmth and perseverance. He contributed mightily to the rebirth of downtown Baltimore and its Inner Harbor.

We all owe a great deal of gratitude to Al for his efforts to improve our wine making across the state. Many of our new wineries would not exist without Al's efforts on our behalf. And yet to be his friend must have been the greatest of honors. He has made so many contributions to so many lives.
