To the McSherry clan,
So sorry to hear of your mothers passing. I remember her well, having grown up next door to you all. She and your dad were so much fun and I am very grateful to her for being such a good friend to my mother, "Miss Mott". .....Duke Howard

The Hyssong family was sorry to hear of the death of your mother. She was a great role model for all. To raise a large family, go thru early health problem, very active in her church and community speaks well of her life. I always enjoyed our phone conversations when she would call for appliance service. Most of the time she would have a humorous comment. We always took care of her needs. Marian was a delight and loved her family. Thanks to her, she told Jack years ago to go to Kernans Hospital for arthroscopic surgery which saved him from major knee surgery.
She was the kind of person who was always looking out for the needs of others. She surely will be missed by ALL! Our prayers are with the family.

Dear McSherry family, Our deepest condolences in your mother's passing. We both have alot of memories of your parents, but when your father was alive and we lived on North Captiva Island, they both came to visit for an overnight. Both your parents were laughing so hard by the time the boat ride was over and the golf cart got underway. Your father said it was the most fun he'd had in a long time and your mother was glad I told her about following her footsteps back after her beachwalk, so she didn't get lost. She said she was so busy looking around, she didn't notice where she was going. May this find you all well and good, and may God bless your mother on her final journey.

Just wanted to share an experience I had with the outlandish Marian. I was honorered to be on a trip to Medjagoria with her in 2008. On the plane ride back from Serbia to Ireland she was seated next to me. I had run out of the native currency and they would not take american money. I was starving and wanted to have Pringles and a coke so badly. Well Marion noticed my dilemma and without a word called over the flight attendendant and stated: "i am craving some pringles and a coke." She promptly paid for (2). I know she did not drink coke or eat pringles and yet she saw a need and filled it. "I was hungry and you fed me." Thank you you crazy woman you. Whenever I eat pringles I can't help but smile at the memory of a remarkable woman. Thank you for coming into my life even for a brief time. Love you.

I cannot think of Mrs. McSherry without thinking of St. Johns. They were completely intertwined. She was a practical woman with a great sense of humor. When I infrequently attended daily mass she was always there. If Mrs. McSherry was sitting in church toward the front on the right side, all was right with the world. Thank you for the example you have set. You will be missed.

Mrs. McSherry was the foundation of a very special family. Anyone who was lucky enough to spend time at the McSherry compound enjoyed her warm and welcoming spirit and her wonderful love of life! Those of us who also had the experience of golfing with her had the opportunity to see a person who loved the game and competed with passion. Robert and I extend our heartfelt condolences to all of the McSherry children and their families. We will miss her...

Marian was one of the most generous people I have ever met. She was a warm and welcoming neighbor to our family when we moved to Second St. Even after we left the neighborhood she would call to see how we were doing. I have so many fond memories of her (including her delicious dinners) and she will be greatly missed. Thank you for your friendship Marian. May you rest in peace.
