Ada Virginia Elkins Notice

Ada Virginia Elkins, Retired Baltimore City Public Schools Elementary Teacher, passed into eternal life on December 25, 2015, she was 86. Born in Baltimore, MD on October 14, 1929 to William Henry Elkins and Ada Crowther Houser Elkins. Her quiet personality and sincere consideration for others will be missed. Virginia received her B.S. Education from Towson State College in May, 1951. She joined Baltimore City Public Schools in 1951 and continued to teach elementary students through 1984. After her retirement she was an advisory teacher with Calvert School until 2006. Her strength was exhibited in her patience, motherly love, talent and time unselfishly given to the many children she taught. She was a symbol of quiet dedication and devotion to her students. Virginia was a life-long Episcopalian and spent many years as a volunteer at Church Hospital. Virginia enjoyed traveling and visited much of the USA and numerous countries in her lifetime. Virginia is survived by her Godson, Franklin R. Simpson and his wife, Lori J., Sunbury, PA. Frank and Lori's children, Kile L. and Jayme Simpson, Stonington, CT, Kara L. and Matthew Greene, and sons Callan J. and Nolan R., Sunbury, PA. Plans for a memorial service are incomplete. The family asks that donations be made to the Christian education program at Epiphany Episcopal Church, Timonium, MD.
