Agnes Burns Garrity Notice

On March 14, 2016 Agnes Burns Garrity beloved wife of the late Joseph Garrity and daughter of the late Bridget and Michael Burns. Formerly of Bethesda, MD, Agnes was a long time volunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes Church and School where she helped establish the original school library. She is survived by daughters Mary (John) Short of Portsmouth, RI Patsy (Charley) Prunkl of Ocean View, DE, and Sheila Garrity of Baltimore, MD; granddaughters Kirstin Short (Jeff Hamilton) of Houston TX, Anne Short (Dan Gianotti) of Boston MA, Beth Prunkl and Kate Prunkl(Charles Heyssel) of Richmond VA; great grandchildren Beckett and Lena Hamilton and Ash Gianotti. Agnes was predeceased by sisters Mary Burns, Anna Grimberg, Eileen P. Burns, and Catherine Henkel. Friends will be received at PUMPHREY'S BETHESDA-CHEVY CHASE FUNERAL HOME, 7557 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda MD on Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 3-5 P.M. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes, 7500 Pearl St, Bethesda, MD on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD.
