A Requiem Memorial Mass for Anna J. Karsner, a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and teacher will be held on December 12, 2015, Saturday at 1 PM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 10003 Bird River Road, Middle River, Maryland, 21220. Mrs. Karsner died on November 26, 2015 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer, she was 78. Born Anna J. Wagner on July 23, 1937, she lived in Baltimore, MD and graduated from Notre Dame of Maryland High School in 1955 and Notre Dame of Maryland College in 1979. She married Joseph Reed Karsner, III 1956. They had 3 children and lived on Frankford Avenue in the Gardenville area for over 40 years. They also lived on Millfield Road in the White Marsh area for 19 years. They were married for over 55 years. Mr. Karsner died in February of 2012 Mrs. Karsner began a 35 year career teaching second grade in 1967 at St. Anthony of Padua School in Baltimore, Maryland. She enjoyed teaching hundreds of students including many second generations and retired in 2002. In addition to her students many of her fellow teachers and faculty became enduring friends. She also had the pleasure of working with Bishop W. Francis Malooly and Bishop Mitch Rozanski. She is survived by a brother, Dr. Henry Wagner; three children, Joseph Reed Karsner, IV, Michael S. Karsner, and Margaret M. Hentschel; seven grandchildren, Bryan R. Karsner, Theresa K. Karsner, Timothy J. Karsner, Michael L. Karsner, Rachel L. Karsner, Daniel G. Hentschel, and Matthew B. Hentschel; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin R. Karsner, and Connor R. Karsner. Mrs. Karsner has donated her body to the State of Maryland Anatomy Board. Instead of flowers a donation to would be greatly appreciated.
