Annette Christina Mayer Stanco "Rooney" was lifted into God's loving arms on the peaceful and bucolic morning of 06/19/2016. She had been battling congestive heart failure and recently had a stroke. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Stanco, loving mother of Alan D. Stanco of Farmington, New Mexico and Denise C. Stanco of Catonsville, MD, beloved daughter of the late August M. and Margaret Domeier Mayer, dearest sister of the late Elizabeth Bennett, August E. Mayer, and Henry L. Mayer, and dearest sister-in-law of Earlyn E. Stanco and the late Chester Stanco of Oella, MD. She is also survived by many other loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was born and raised in St. Denis and Relay, MD. She resided in Catonsville for 67 years. She worked in the payroll department of Westinghouse during WWII as a comptometer operator. Subsequently she worked in the offices of the A&P Company. Her last career was as a teacher's aide at the Rolling Road School for Retarded Citizens for the Baltimore County Board of Education where she worked for 23 years until her retirement. The family will receive friends on Friday, 4 to 7 pm at the family owned MACNABB FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 301 Frederick Road, Catonsville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 11 am in Salem Lutheran Church. Interment private. Flowers are welcome. Annette's preference was memorial donations in her name to Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 905 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228 or Chesapeake Audubon Society, PO Box 3173, Catonsville, MD 21228.
