Charles LoCascio Notice

A memorial service will be held for Charles Ross LoCascio, 73, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12 at St. Margaret's Church, 1601 Pleasant Plains Road, Annapolis, MD 21409. LoCascio, who spent most of his adult life in Annapolis, MD, was the beloved husband of Patricia M. LoCascio and a life-long educator and teachers' advocate. He died July 29, 2016 in Holly Hill, FL after a cheerful and valiant battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 14, 1942. He graduated from Oceanside High School in Oceanside, NY and St. Francis University in Loretta, PA. He spent 39 years in Maryland working as an English Teacher, a Field Service Representative for the Maryland State Teachers Association, and Executive Director of the Teachers Association of Anne Arundel County. He held the latter position for 19 years, retiring in July 2003. He and his wife of nearly 48 years then moved to Florida, living in Cocoa Beach, Port Orange and most recently in Holly Hill. Charles embraced life with gusto. His mastery of Italian cooking delighted the many friends and family who were fortunate enough to sample his dishes over the years. His love of boating, fishing and music of the 1950's were shared equally. Charles is survived by his wife, Patricia; his step-children, Dyan Alexander and Patrick Gonzales of Annapolis, MD, Donna Wilson of Camano Island, Washington State, and Jaime Gonzales of Chadds Ford, PA; and his six grand-children and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his younger sisters, Geri Schildt, Gina Charles and Maryann Swegles, all Florida residents; and his brother Joseph LoCascio of Connecticut.
