Donald Martineau Notice


Donald Paul Martineau joined his beloved wife, Jean, in heaven on October 20, 2015. Don was part of the greatest generation defending American freedoms against the Japanese in World War II. He was the radio operator and inflight medic on a B29 bomber in 1945. The plane was named for the City of Hershey. He later went on to receive his Bachelor's of Science in Physics from Clark University in 1948. He received his Masters and PhD in Oceanography from New York University in 1950 and 1958, respectively. He held various positions within the federal government during a 30 year career with his last position being Deputy Director for Budgeting at NOAA. He was a member of the vestry at Christ Episcopal Church in Kensington, MD. He is survived by his son Jonathan and his wife, Patrice, of Mountaintop, PA, son Peter and his wife, Patricia, of Olney, MD, granddaughters Nicole Martineau (Bethesda, MD), Megan Martineau (Northeast, MD), Kelly Martineau (Baltimore, MD), Kathryn Martineau (Baltimore, MD), Jennifer Hollern and her husband, Dan, of Cockeysville, MD and great granddaughter Kacey Hollern.
