Eloise "Sissy" Vera Mae (Winder) Johnson was born on March 24, 1960 in Hebron, MD to Roland Ennis and the late Delilah Horsey. She entered Heaven's Gates on Thursday, September 15, 2016. Eloise was a 1979 graduate of Mardela High School, and she later went on to attend the Univ. of Maryland Eastern Shore and Harford Community College. In 1982, she married Keena Johnson, also of Hebron. They shared 34 wonderful years of marriage, and were blessed with four children: Keena Jr. "KJ", Keenan "PeeWee", Krishna, and Kenyatta "BJ". Growing up in Hebron, Sissy attended St. Luke United Methodist Church. For many years, she was a faithful member of the St. Luke Gospel Choir. Later after living in many states and countries due to Keena's military career, the family settled in Aberdeen, MD. Eloise worked at the Harford Center in Havre de Grace where she worked as a Program Supervisor. She later became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she wore many hats. She was president of the Deaconess Board and a member of the Mass and Senior Choir. She was active in various ministries at Mt. Zion, including New Members, Women's Bible Fellowship, Lydia Girls, and the Marriage Ministry. She enjoyed reading, singing, and studying the Bible. Outside of church, she lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. She loved spending time with her family, and she was always willing to help others in any way possible. Eloise leaves to cherish her fond memory and carry on her legacy her husband Keena, Sr.; 3 children: Keena Jr. (Chauntel), Keenan, and Krishna; 6 grandchildren: Diamond, Matthew, Ariel, Arianna, Earl and Marissa; her father Roland Ennis, Sr; 2 sisters: Charlenia Herring and Pam Boston; 4 brothers: James Winder, Roland Ennis Jr., Keith Ennis, and Andre Ennis; several sisters-in law and brothers-in-law, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and her church family. In addition to her mother, Sissy was preceded in death by a son Kenyatta Johnson, her maternal grandmother Ruth Horsey, 3 brothers: Thomas Lee Winder, Tyrone Winder, Milton Winder, and a nephew Reginal Winder. A Homegoing Service is scheduled for Monday, Sept 26, 2016 at 12 noon at Mt Zion Baptist Church in Havre de Grace with a viewing two hours prior to the service. A viewing will also be held Tuesday, Sept 27, 2016, 10 to 12 noon. Interment will be take place at Green Acres Cemetery in Salisbury.
