Our hearts are very sad and very heavy after hearing of Ernie's passing. He was a special part of our family a long time ago. I'm so sorry for his family who I know loved him dearly. Our deepest sympathy and prayers are with you. Elaine, Marty and Peyton Joines.

Joanne. We are so sorry. I didn't find out until last night. Paul didn't want to tell me while I was at work. I keep a photo of Ernst and my Dad on my living room end table. It has been there for over 20 years. I held the photo and wept. He was so beautiful, in every sense of the word. Paul has taken this especially hard. At Paul's 60th party, him and Ernst just sat and talked about old times. They were like brothers when we lived next door. We both loved him very much. We will keep all of you in our prayers. Love to all, Karen and Paul Schaffer

Joanne,
Joanne and I are heart broken to hear of your loss. We spent the day Sunday with many friends who knew and loved Ernie very much. I will especially miss the Sergeants Major as he and I shared the brotherhood of two old veterans. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do for you or the family. Know that his presence on this earth will be missed.
Love,
Joanne and Hank Newman

Joanne,
I was so sorry to hear of Ernie's passing. I had not seen him for probably 20 years, but there he was last week at my mother's funeral.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Joanne,
I'm so sorry for your loss, I know that this was quite unexpected but
perhaps God had an urgent need. Ernie and Iva have met him at the gates and have just started to catch up. Let your family and friends be by your side to comfort you and share their memories.
Love , Julia Bullington
