BRANDT JR. , John M. John Milton Brandt, Jr. of Ellicott City, MD, died March 26, 2013 following a brief illness. He celebrated his 93rd birthday with family in mid-February. Born in Baltimore, Mr. Brandt was graduated from Baltimore City College and from the University of Maryland in College Park, where he earned degrees in engineering. During World War II, he served in the Army's 114th Night Fighter Squadron in the European theater, engaged in radar technology. Mr. Brandt worked his entire career as a professional engineer in the Baltimore City Department of Public Works, where he guided the construction of schools and other municipal facilities. He married the former Emma Gean Colvard in 1964, and following his retirement from the City in 1980, they relocated to Hernando Beach FL where they lived until her death in 1997. Elizabeth Brandt and brother Thomas Marshall Brandt. He is survived by two nephews, Stephen R. Brandt of Catonsville, MD, Thomas M. Brandt, Jr. of Millersville, MD; and a niece, Carol B. Staton of Hillsborough, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday April 6 in the Heartlands Community Chapel in Ellicott City.
