Dr.  John William Logsdon D.D.S. Notice

Dr. John William Logsdon, a retired Arbutus, MD Dentist, died September 22, 2015 at Charlestown. He was 94 years old. Dr. Logsdon was born in the Panama Canal Zone and graduated from Balboa High School. He attended the University of Maryland in College Park enrolling in the pre-dental course and graduated from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in August 1944. After a dental internship at the Baltimore City Hospitals, he returned to Balboa and worked as a government dentist. In August 1949, Dr. Logsdon returned to Baltimore and opened a dental practice on East Drive in Arbutus. In 1953, he relocated his office to Linden Avenue in Arbutus where he practiced for 11 years. In 1964, Dr. Logsdon relocated his office to Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore County practicing there for 37 years, until his retirement on December 30, 2001 at the age of 80. Dr. Logsdon was a member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, and a Charter Member of the Baltimore County Dental Association, who honored him at his retirement with a certificate of Award for his service and dedication to dentistry from the 1954 charter membership to his 2001 retirement. He was also a member of the Rolling Road Golf Club in Catonsville, MD. Dr. Logsdon enjoyed photography, traveling, bluegrass concerts, opera, symphony, and gardening. Dr. Logsdon is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Gardner Logsdon. They were married for 63 years. Dr. Logsdon rests at the family operated HUBBARD FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4107 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21229 where his family will receive guests on Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 6-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 10:30 AM Catonsville Presbyterian Church, 1400 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228. Interment to follow in Elkton Cemetery in Elkton, MD.
