Kelly Josephine Navin

1987 - 2016 Notice Condolences Gallery

A beautiful and brilliant light has gone dark. Kelly Josephine Navin died on Sunday, June 12, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident Kelly was beautiful inside and out. She had gorgeous blond hair, expressive blue eyes, and a smile that told of hidden thoughts. She had a keen intellect and liked showing it off. She was funny, she was witty, and she saw the world with a sense of humor and amusement that gladdened our hearts. She was devoted to her family, and her family and friends loved her fiercely. Kelly lived life every day knowing she was loved. She was so very wise for her age, and she cared deeply about people, especially those close to her. She was a kind and gentle soul and loved her cats, her dogs, her dagus, her snake, and even a pet rat. She had a fearless, entertaining and animated personality and embraced life with a passion. She was an engaging and tireless talker, and people were drawn to her. She was the reader of rules and the scorekeeper in family games. She could quote Shakespeare as easily as Caddyshack or The Princess Bride. She was scared of zombies but loved Halloween. Kelly died at a happy point in her life. She just graduated with a Master's Degree in Psychology from Loyola, was about to publish her first paper, and set her sights on a Ph.D., following in her mother's footsteps. She loved research and was excited about her new position at Johns Hopkins. She loved helping people, and loved bartending. She had wonderfully close friends, especially Katie, Jen, Jackie, Erin, and Sid, and was about to move to a new home. Kelly leaves a void that can never be filled. She leaves behind her parents, Mick and Jackie Navin who believe she is with our heavenly Father and wish they had one more chance to tell her how extraordinary she was. She leaves her sister Lindsey, her childhood antagonist who became her best and loving friend. She leaves her brother Luke who admired and loved and had a special relationship with her. She also leaves her mom-mom Pat Lepore, close aunts and uncles John and Eileen Lepore, Joe and Diane Navin, Mary Chambers, Tom and Deb Muldoon, Bill Muldoon, and Trish and Tim Yost. She has so many close cousins: Jennifer and Olivia; Kristy, Alex and Seth; Andria and Laura; Sean, Melissa, Robin and Matt; Michelle, Billy and Michael; and Aaron and Derick. Viewings will be held at Schimunek Funeral Home at 610 West Macphail Road, Bel Air, MD., on Friday, June 17, from 3:00 to 5:00 and also from 7:00 to 9:00. At 8:00pm, there will be a eulogy and friends and family are encouraged to share stories of this wonderful young lady. The funeral mass will be held at the St. Mary Magdalen Mission on 1716 Churchville Road Bel Air MD, on Saturday, June 18 at 11:00am. Interment Highview Memorial Cemetery In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Harford County or the animal rescue of our choice in honor of Kelly's love of animals.
