Louis DiPietro Notice


Louis Pasquale DiPietro, age 81 of Millsboro, DE formerly of Perry Hall and Kingsville, MD passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at his home. Louis was born in Baltimore, MD on October 21, 1934 son of the late Pasquale and Anna (Juliano) DiPietro. After graduating from Calvert Hall College High School in 1952, Lou went on to play football and earned his undergraduate degree from the George Washington University. He later received his master's degree from Towson University. Mr. DiPietro was a retired elementary school principal with the Baltimore County School System with close to 40 years of service. He then began serving as the principal for St. Stephen Catholic School in Kingsville, MD for 5 years before moving to Delaware. After moving to Delaware, Lou worked briefly in a different capacity as a salesman of homes for the Pot-Nets Communities. Lou will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather brother and friend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Louis Phillip DiPietro in 2015 and a brother, Thomas DiPietro. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Mary Arlene (Amrhein) DiPietro; 2 children, Mary Ann (DiPietro) Ampil and her husband Edgar of Baltimore, MD and John Michael DiPietro and his wife Amy of Timonium, MD; a brother, Alfred DiPietro and his wife Marge of Bel Air, MD and 4 grandchildren, Eric Ampil, Jack DiPietro, Joseph Ampil and Amelia DiPietro. Lou was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Orioles, the old Baltimore Colts and the Ravens. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 8030 Bradshaw Rd., Kingsville, MD 21087, The family will receive visitors 1 hour prior to the mass. Interment will be held privately at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Baltimore, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Lou's name to St. Stephen Catholic School, 8028 Bradshaw Rd., Kingsville, MD 21087.
