Mildred "Millie" Mincsik Notice


Mildred G. (Bennett) Mincsik, 91, or "Millie" as most knew her, of Gettysburg, PA, passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 3, 2016. She had been residing at Transitions Nursing Home in Gettysburg after living with diabetes for many years. Born in Parsons, WV on January 9, 1924, Millie was the daughter of the late Chester and Londa Bennett. She was the beloved wife of George Mincsik for over 64 'wonderful' years. Millie and her husband George owned many successful family businesses over the years. They included The Dunbar Market (15 years) and Poplar Place Hardware (20 years) in Dundalk, MD, and then started Mil-G-Farm Antiques at their farm in Gettysburg, PA in 1972 which continued for over 40 years. In addition to her husband George, Millie ("Granny") is survived by her five grandchildren, their spouses and children: Daneille and Randy Eddy (Emily) of Easton, NY, Scott Koenig (Scotty and Brent) of Baltimore, MD, Manette and Doug Eddy (Kyle and Shawn) of Brunswick, NY, Amy and Robin Archer (Violet) of New Zealand, Courtnee and Todd Cutler (Samantha) of Colonie, NY. She is also survived by her brother, Calvin Bennett of Elkins, West Virginia. Millie was predeceased by her daughter Carol S. Barsalou, a sister Juanita "Skeet" Quattro, and brothers Carlton, Herbert, and Donald Bennett. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the church, Thursday, January 7th at 10 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 12 p.m. Rev. Troy C. Morgan will officiate and interment will follow at the Lower Marsh Creek cemetery. The Monahan Funeral Home of Gettysburg is assisting the family with the arrangements.
