Paul Notter Notice

Paul Edward Notter, age 96, died Monday morning, October 5, 2015 of complications of Alzheimer's disease at Brightview- Mays Chapel Ridge, Timonium. He was born in Huntington WV, April 11, 1919, the son of Lewis Alva and Rosa Ann Notter. Paul graduated from Huntington High School in 1937 and Marshall College in 1941. He served in the Army during World War II, where he met his future wife Ursula Inge Schwabe while stationed in Germany. Paul was employed in 1941 by C&O Railways and The Chessie Systems, where he then retired in 1984. He and Ursula enjoyed gardening and were fervent do-it-yourselfers who enjoyed upgrading their homes together. They especially enjoyed traveling together to Europe. Paul is predeceased by his wife, Ursula, his two sons, Robert and Ralph. He is survived by his three daughters; Paule Chalmers and her husband Geoff, of Atlanta, GA, their family; grandson Cameron Chalmers and his wife Laurie Mann and their son, great-grandson Locke Chalmers of Lafayette, CO; granddaughter Meghan Chalmers-McDonald and her husband Justin, of Milwaukie, Oregon; a daughter, Audrey Notter Thomas and her husband Steven of Lutherville, MD; their family, granddaughter Anastasia Nardangeli and her husband Matthew and their daughter, great-granddaughter Lyra Nardangeli of Lutherville, MD; granddaughter Alexandra Thomas of Marina Del Rey, CA and grandson Steven Thomas and his wife Rebecca of Brooklyn, NY; a daughter Hally Ashby of Joppa, MD; granddaughter Erica McQuiston and her husband Sean and their daughter, great-granddaughter Hannah McQuiston of Elkridge, MD. The Notter Family will receive friends at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 York Road (Beltway Exit 26A) on Friday, October 9th from 3:00pm till 3:30pm, at which time a Celebration of Paul's Life will begin. The remains will be cremated and an inurnment will take place in the family plot at Spring Hill Cemetery in Huntington, WV.
