Shirley Louise (Bailey) Hobbs, beloved wife for 65 years of Wilson L. Hobbs passed away on August 12, 2015. She was born on April 20, 1927 in Cabin John, MD to John & Ruth (Haltmon) Bailey, the second youngest of 7 children. She worked for many years at John Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory retiring in 1990. Louise had a passion for gardening and enjoyed golfing, her crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. At Christmas her home was a wonder of beautiful and enchanting decorations which she and her husband, Will, enjoyed doing with great enthusiasm. She will be dearly missed by her husband, grandson, Michael B. Hobbs, her daughter-in-law, Karen Hobbs, brother Russell & his wife Ann, brother Paul and his wife Lynn, a sister-in-law, Doris and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son, Gregory, daughter, Sandra, son, Michael D. Hobbs, her brothers John and Earl and her sister Helen Miles and Dorothy Miles. There will be a viewing at Slack Funeral Home, P.A. 3871 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21043 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A service will be held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 12430 Scaggsville Road (Rt. 216), Highland, MD 20777 at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.
