W. Michael Seganish Sr. Notice


W. Michael Seganish Sr. (Esq.), husband, father, grandfather, lawyer and professor, died peacefully on July 14th. The former Timonium resident is survived by his wife Nancy Rodney, son, W. Michael Jr., daughter, Catherine Rodney Pantazes, and soon to be six grandchildren: David Michael, Eva Elizabeth, Joshua Emory, Eleanor Clara, and Emory Catherine. In his Youth "Mike" was an avid basketball player who was honored by making the All-County Team in Prince George's County (1963-1964). During this time he met his lifelong friend, John Szymkowicz, with whom he continued his friendship throughout life. Later, Mike served as a Professor of Legal Studies at Towson University for an astonishing 45 years where he chaired the College of Business and Economics Department (1982) and was known for integrating academic teaching with professional experiences. Professor Seganish received multiple accolades for many published articles. He was also a 40 year practicing attorney in Towson assisting clients in the subject of Elder Law. Mike's true passions were spending time with family, the Towson YMCA, and teaching in the classroom. Friends may call at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Rd. (Beltway exit 26) Monday, July 18, 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 pm where a Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, July 19, at 10 am. Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to the Maryland SPCA, 3300 Falls Rd, Baltimore, MD 21211.
