GRITSCH , Rev. Dr. Eric W. On December 29, 2012, Rev. Dr. Eric W. Gritsch , Emeritus Professor of Church History, beloved husband of Bonnie Brobst, dear father of four foster daughters; dear brother of Gunther Gritsch of Vienna, Austria.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Zion Church of the City of Baltimore. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eric's name may be directed to the Zion Church of Baltimore, 400 E. Lexington St., Baltimore, MD 21202. Arrangements by Lilly & Zeiler Inc.

I will always remember something Dr. Eric said at one of the Lenten classes. In a conversation about how people view Christ as Heavenly figure but not as a fellow human sufferer, he said that people are used to looking at the cross from up and down but they forget to look left to right. I thought it was simple, elegant, and profound. I will miss him.
