Robert Stanley Johnston, Jr., 91, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Friday, July 11, 2014, at Fahrney Keedy Home and Village, Boonsboro, MD. Born Saturday, June 23, 1923 in Toronto, Canada, he was the son of the late Robert Stanley Johnston Sr. and the late Jean Elizabeth (Gardner) Johnston. He graduated from Forest Park High School, Baltimore, MD in 1942. He served in the United States Navy during World War II as an Aviation Cadet. He was employed with Bell South, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a very active member of Temple Baptist Church, Baltimore, MD followed by First Baptist Church, Hagerstown, MD, where he was a Trustee, Deacon and Choir member. He was also a past active member of the Hagerstown Kiwanis Club. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lois Ann Johnston; daughter, Gail Johnston of Hagerstown, MD; son, Craig Stuart Johnston and wife, Debbie of Fairfield, PA; son, Scott Alan Johnston and wife, Michele of Hagerstown, MD; daughter, Lori Ann Yacucci and husband, Dr. Gregory T. Yacucci of Newcastle, DE; grandchildren, Cody Stuart Johnston, Gregory Theodore Yacucci, Sarah Elizabeth Yacucci, Anna Marie Yacucci, Keely Irene Warfield, Tyler Scott Johnston and Ryan Alan Johnston. Services will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 10:00 AM, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD with Pastor Thom Smith officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment will be at the Beaver Creek Cemetery, Beaver Creek, MD.
