Thomas M. Bailey Sr. Notice


On November 2, 2013 Thomas Melvin Bailey, Sr succumbed after a long battle with cancer and dysphasia. Mr. Bailey was a devout Catholic, highly decorated WWII Veteran, and tireless veterans advocate. He was Past National Commander Catholic War Veterans, Captain-Baltimore City Fire Department, CMS (Ret.) of the U.S. Army /Air Force Reserves/Air National Guard and Past Chairman - Charlotte Hall Veterans Home.He lived well, accomplished much, and made a difference. He is survived by his loving wife Thelma M. Bailey "Sweetie" (Nee Smith), Kathi and Gene Petrowski and their sons Dave and Dan, Tom and Mary Bailey, and Kevin and Michele Bailey and her son Matt.

Friends may call at The Johnson-Fosbrink Funeral Home, P.A., 8521 Loch Raven Blvd. (beltway exit 29-B) on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. All are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Thursday at 9:30 A.M. in St. Mary's of the Assumption Church, 5502 York Road, Baltimore, MD 21222 . Military interment arrangements are in process. Family request that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, ATTN: Veterans Assistance Fund, 29449 Charlotte Hall Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622 or to a personal charity in Mr. Bailey's name.
