What I remember most is that he was the best athlete I ever knew. He was not only gifted in the major sports. I also was able to participate in most sports but not the best in any one. In my last year of college I organized an Olympics with every competitive "sport" imaginable with a scoring system based on the number who signed up - not just giving points to the top performers. It even included ping pong, checkers and chess along with tennis, basketball foul shooting, long and short running and swimming events - virtually every competitive sport you could imagine. I did come in second but it was far short of first. Frank was so far ahead if me and the other 50 or so Brothers that competed. And I couldn't add the teams sports like baseball and football - and especially basketball. He was definitely the best pitcher (I use to be his catcher and needed special padding in my glove) an excellent quarterback who could run like the wind and excelled in basketball.
He was a good friend back then but lost touch once we graduated and were assigned teaching in different Christian Brother schools. I can only imagine how tough a loss this is too his family as he died so young.

If this is the Frank Clary rhar spent his early years as a christian Brother nee. Brother Geoffrey Francis, could someone please email me at [email protected]. There are a number of us ex-CBs who would to know of his passing and to remember him in our prayers.
If Frank is the one I knew, then I know he is much missed. We were close friends for three or four years and I have thought of him often over the years. I always thought that he must have been an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He would be 73 now if living, same age as myself.

Cindy,
I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. I had worked with him and your Mom at Calvert Hall many years ago, and shared some laughs and memories this past winter at Mercy Ridge when I was visiting my Dad. Hugs for you and Shirley. Susan Epstein

What will we miss about Frank?
When you were with Frank you were laughing. Every Saturday for the last twelve years, we ate breakfast with Frank and Shirley. And boy did we laugh. If he wasn't flirting with the waitresses, he was rolling his eyes as Shirley told us her stories for the week. On Father's Day there was a buffet at Michael's, but he got personal service from the waitresses. He must have been a big tipper. You never knew what Frank would wear when he came to breakfast. (see picture). It was a laugh a minute.
Needless to say, Frank's jovial personality and dry sense of humor are what we will miss the most.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Shirley and the family.
Love, Roy and Jan
