Herbert Knapp Obituary
On April 21, 2016, Retired Colonel Herbert Knapp, beloved husband of the late Dorothy Knapp and the late Mary L. (Polly) Knapp ; devoted father of Barbara A. Knapp and wife Bunny Creef, Beverly G. Knapp and wife Cindy McElroy, Herbert E. Knapp and husband Thomas V. Colonna, and Michael P. Knapp. He was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Knapp. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in WW II and the Korean War. Mr. Knapp was a member of the Palestine Masonic Lodge 189, Catonsville and a Boumi Temple member of The Shriners organization. He was also a member of numerous other fraternal, civic and professional organizations. Friends may call at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Rd. (Beltway exit 26), Thursday, April 28 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm where a Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 pm. A funeral service will be celebrated at the Maryland Masonic Home, 300 International Circle, Cockeysville, Friday, April 29 at 11 am with a burial immediately following at Loudon Park. From the beginning, loving, kind, helpful, intelligent, positive, generous and concerned husband, Pop, grandfather and gentleman. Always giving your time and help to family, friends, casual acquaintances and even the man on the street. Time and age change things, but you were always my Pop; that never changed and never will change.
