Ward Jones Obituary



Ward Nelson Jones was born in Pittsburgh, Pa on October 11,1932 to Margaret and Flavius Jones of Mount Lebanon, Pa. He died on September 21,2017 ,as a result of complications of vascular disease. He grew up with two siblings, Martin and Ann. After graduating from Mt. Lebanon High School, Ward enrolled in the 3-2 plan of study in liberal arts and engineering. He graduated in 1955 from Baldwin-Wallace University, Berea Ohio with a BS degree in Physics and another BS degree from Carnegie-Mellon University , Pittsburgh, Pa. in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating, he was employed as a sales engineer at various companies. In 1980 Ward opened his own company, Retro Electric. Ward is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mimi and two children, Bryan Jones and Ruth Ann Whelley. He also has four grandchildren, Kevin Jones, Katie Jones, James Whelley and Maggie Whelley and two step-; grand children, Sarah and Hannah Bryker. He is also survived by a brother, Martin Jones and a sister Ann Carlson. A Memorial Service will be held at Catonsville United Methodist Church 6 Melvin Ave., Catonsville, MD 21228 on Saturday October 7th 2017 at 1:00 pm with a celebration lunch following the service. The family will receive visitors on Friday October 6th from 7-9pm at the Whelley's home at 2 Forest Dr., Catonsville, MD 21228. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the Catonsville United Methodist Church.

Very sorry to learn of Ward's passing. I was his room mate our freshman year at Baldwin Wallace in 1950. As I remember he played on the line for the BW football team at 170 some lbs. He was easy going and I can't remember an
