Angela Field

BAYSIDE - Angela Field, 93, died peacefully Thursday afternoon, Jan. 26, 2012, with her granddaughters, Tracey and Lynn, by her side, at her son's home in Bayside. Angela Fern Corey was born May 28, 1918, in Ludlow, the younger daughter of Harvey Edison Corey and Mary Elizabeth Worthley. After graduating from Houlton High School, she moved to Bangor and worked at the Palace of Sweets, where she met her husband, Franklin Augustus "Pete" Field of Bangor. They made their home in Bangor at 128 West Broadway and later moved to 35 Main St., Bayside. Angela worked as a waitress at Pilot's Grill, Bangor, and later at The Lobster Pound, Lincolnville Beach. She enjoyed flower gardening, traveling, cooking, dancing, cats and her family. She was predeceased by her husband; and her sister, Muriel Virginia Warman. She is survived by her son, Franklin A.W. Field III of Bayside; daughter, Linda Lee and Dwight Doubleday of North Windham, Conn.; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; two cousins, Ronald Elkin of Orrington and Sandra Paulson of Minnesota; niece, Marilyn Hannigan of Houlton; and special family friend, Gerald O'Meara. The family thanks Cathy and Denise of hospice for their loving care in her last months. Interment will be a private family ceremony at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. There will be a gathering in Angela's honor noon Saturday, May 26, in Bayside. Those who would like to celebrate her life are welcome to attend. The family requests that no flowers be sent. Donations may be made in her name to Waldo County Home, Health and Hospice.
