Mrs. Cindy Tipton, late of Athabasca, AB. Passed away suddenly on May 7, 2016 at the age of 40 years. Cindy is survived by her loving husband David Tipton of 21 years. 3 children Ty (girlfriend Rebecca) Brooke (boyfriend Austin) and Megan. Her loving parents Doug and Debbie Greilach, of Barrhead and Mother-in-law Deby Tipton of Athabasca. 3 sisters Crystal (Steve) Properzi, Teresa (Henco) Dekker and Nancy (Matt) Mahar. 2 brothers Murray (Juliane) Greilach and Joey Greilach (fiancé Ayn Grant) all from the Barrhead area. Brother-in-law Don (Carmen) Tipton of Spiritwood, Saskatchewan and Sister-in-law Tina Ballachay of Cold Lake, Alberta. Grandpa Steve Greilach (special friend Dorthy Adair), Grandma Elsie (Jack) Wallach both of Barrhead and Grandma Sal of Spiritwood, Saskatchewan. It is with fond memories that we remember Cindy's love of people and life. She saw something special in everyone no matter who they might be or where they were from. She was dedicated to helping people in their time of need. She loved her family very much! She loved sports of all kinds but hockey was her passion. Cindy also enjoyed camping, horseback riding and all water sports. She was a farm girl at heart! Cindy enjoyed riding through the country, the smell of newly worked ground, fresh cut hay and the smell of canola fields. Cindy's time working at CIBC gained her the respect of people around town and the trading area, which had an immediate impact when she and Dave became the owners of Tipton's Independent Grocers'. Her fiery nature when it came to helping people payed off in both businesses. Donation gratefully accepted to Athabasca Minor Hockey. A trust fund has been set up for the children at CIBC Athabasca. Funeral arrangement entrusted to Strome Memorial and Funeral Services Ltd. 780-675-6901. Service was held Monday, May 16 at the Athabasca Multiplex.
