It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mr. James Arthur "Hap" Tomalty of Barrhead, Alberta formerly of Brownsburg, Quebec. Hap was surrounded by family and friends when he passed away in the Barrhead Healthcare Centre on July 16, 2015 at the age of 83 years. Hap farmed in the Barrhead area for 28 years and loved his garden, flower beds and family. He served as a Legion member in Barrhead. Hap is survived by his loving wife, Arlene (nee Adair); 3 children; Harold (Janet) of Barrhead, JoAnne (Barry) Scinski of Provost, Patty (Lyle) Chizma of Barrhead; 8 grandchildren; Ashlyn (Travis) Dionne, Connor Tomalty, Mitchell Ternan (fiance Krista Smyl), Jaron Ternan, Karissa Ternan, Mikaila Ternan, Jake Chizma, Tyson Chizma; 2 great-grandchildren; Chanel and Soleil Dionne. Hap is also survived by 2 brothers; Gerald (Susan) and Robert (Faye); 4 sisters; Jean Harrison, Joyce MacIntyre, Grace (Doug) Thompson, Linda (Malcolm) McDonald, Harold and Pat Adair as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. held Monday, July 20, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Barrhead United Church with Rev. Sharon Foster officiating. Inurnment took place at the Barrheaad Cemetery Columbarium after the service. Donations graciously accepted to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Barrhead Legion. Papa will be greatly missed by his family and those who loved him.
