Mrs. Neva Lackey, age 93, of Winder passed away Friday, October 26, 2012.
Mrs. Lackey was born April 23, 1919 in Wetumka, OK. She was a homemaker and a member of Midway Christian Church in Winder. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest Lackey and Homer Deroche; son, Gene Deroche; daughters, Neva Joan Lemons and Eunice Foster.
She is survived by: her son-in-law, Charles Lemons of Winder; daughter-in-law, Bonnie LaRovere of Winder; seven grandchildren, Lori Cain of Winder, Jim Lemons of Watkinsville, Ellen Gentry of Winder, Rick Feldman of Winder, Joe Deroche of Hemet, CA, Charles Foster of Washington State, and LoAnn Foster of Washington State; thirteen great grandchildren; brother, Sherma Wheat of Sacramento, CA; sister, Mary Jane Nelson of Sacramento, CA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, November 1, at 3 p.m. at Midway Christian Church with Rev. John Birchmore officiating. Interment followed at Barrow Memorial Gardens in Winder.
