Victoria Elizabeth (Newell) Slavik, 47, of Maui, HI was called home by God, Monday, August 27, 2012
Vicki graduated from Lakeside High School, UGA with BS in Nutrition, and has a Masters Degree in nutrition from University of New Haven CT. She was an honor student and selected for honorary award "Who's Who Among American High School Students". She was a cheerleader at Druid Hills High School and on the drill team at Lakeside. In 1996 she placed 9th of 800 runners in the US National Championship Triathlon in California. At UGA she was a member of Alpha Omega Pi Sorority.
Vicki was an independent broker on the Hawaii Islands for Boiron & Goodwinds trading, following many years as sales representative for the entire Los Angeles area for the French Homeopathic Pharmaceutical Company, Boiron. Vicki met Sean Swamer, a Cancer Climber survivor who placed a prayer flag on top of Kilimanjaro for her.
Vicki is survived by: her husband, Steven Slavik; her mother, Shirley Newell of Winder; father, David, and wife Kay Newell of TX; sister, Valerie (Newell) Morgan and children, Mallerie, Madison and Macay; brother, David Newell Jr; half brother, Trent; and half sister, Kathryn.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 23 at Winder First United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Tippens officiating.

Losing a loved one is never easy. I hope all the friends and family of Victoria are comforted knowing God is there so support you through your toughest times - "throw your burdens on him". (Ps. 55:22) With sympathy...
